O značce Longines
Počátky společnosti se datují do roku 1832, kdy v Saint-Imier začal podnikat Auguste Agassiz. V roce 1852 se připojil do společnosti ekonom a Agassiziho synovec Ernest Francillon. Další spojení proběhlo roku 1983 se Swatch Group. Rozrůstající se výroba si vyžádala v roce 1867 založení továrny v místě, kterému se říkalo Es Longines. Po tomto místě získala společnost své jméno Longines. Celosvětově si nechala společnost registrovat logo a název až v roce 1893. Téhož roku ještě začala vyrábět svůj první vlastní strojek, kalibr 20A, který používal natahovací korunkou. Za tento vynález získala společnost medaili na světové výstavě v Paříži. Dalším oceněním byla výhra ceny v Grand Prix s kapesními hodinkami La Renommée. Postupem času společnost vylepšovala své strojky, svoji přesností dokonce firma uspěla jako oficiální dodavatel pro Fédération Aéronautique Internationale. Dokonce jeden z modelů hodinek pomáhá navrhovat Charles Lindbergh. Hodinky pro letce z roku 1927 mají pomoci při výpočtech potřebných při létání. První hodinky s automatickým nátahem vydává společnost roku 1945 s kalibrem 22A a o 9 let později začíná experimentovat s elektronickými hodinkami. První elektromechanické hodinky na baterii uvede v roce 1963 se strojkem L400 a první digitální hodinky o 9 let později. Mezitím ovšem pokračoval vývoj quartzového strojku pod tajným projektem Hourglass. Úprava loga proběhla až v roce 1982 kdy dostalo „křídla“ a spolu s tím uvedla společnost novou řadu hodinek La Grande Classique a zároveň se stala oficiálním partnerem Formule 1 na 10 let. Spojení se sportem prohloubila o tři roky později spolupráce s Mezinárodní gymnastickou federací (International Federation of Gymnastics). Elegantní řadu hodinek pro dámy pod označením DolceVita uvedla Longines v roce 1997 a o 11 let později ji doplnila řada PrimaLuna. Mezitím společnost představila kolekcí Master, mechanické hodinky s elegantním designem a sportovní kolekce – HydroConquest a Conquest. Dnes má společnost velké množství modelových řad hodinek pokrývající rozličné požadavky zákazníků.
